⚙️ Settings

How to play 3D Go

Goal

Score more points than your opponent by capturing their stones and surrounding territory on a cubic grid.

Placing stones

Black goes first. Players take turns tapping an empty intersection to place a stone. You cannot skip your turn except by pressing Pass.

Liberties & captures

Each stone has up to 6 neighbours (left, right, up, down, forward, back). A stone or connected group is captured and removed when all its neighbours are occupied by the opponent — it has no liberties left.

Ko rule

You cannot make a move that returns the board to exactly the state it was in one move ago. This prevents infinite loops.

Ending the game

The game ends when both players Pass in a row. The player with the higher score wins.

Scoring

Captures — stones you have taken.
Territory — empty intersections completely surrounded by your colour.
Komi — White receives +6.5 bonus points to compensate for Black moving first.

Controls

Tap / click — place a stone.
Drag — rotate the board.
Scroll / pinch — zoom in and out.
L1 – L9 — toggle layer visibility to see inside the cube.

Settings ⚙️

Tap ⚙️ (bottom-right) to open settings: board size, game mode, scoring, sound, and theme. Changes to board size or mode start a new game immediately.

Modes

PvP — two humans, same device.
PvC — you play Black, computer plays White.
CvC — watch the computer play itself.
🌐 Online — play against a friend on another device (in settings).

Playing online

Open ⚙️ Settings and tap 🌐 Play Online →.

To host: choose a board size, tap ✦ Create game, then share the 6-letter code with your friend.

To join: enter the code your friend shared and tap Join game →.

You play Black as host, White as guest. Moves sync instantly. Use 💬 to open the chat panel during the game. Tap Leave to exit the room.
